Following on from the success of last years' webinars and annual conference, we are pleased to announce that the IOTOD spring webinar 2023 ‘Transitioning between opioid dependence treatments: clinical considerations and switching strategies’ will be taking place on Wednesday 1 March at 19:00 GMT / 20:00 CET on Zoom.
The IOTOD spring webinar 2023 will be led by Professor Nick Lintzeris and joined by Dr Craig Sayers and Professor Dr Jens Reimer. This webinar will outline the reasons why patients with opioid dependence (OD) may switch between OD treatments and summarise the logistic considerations for such transitions. Additionally, with regard to methadone to buprenorphine transition, dose-tapering strategies and high-dose transfers, covering avoidance of precipitated withdrawal will also be discussed. The event will conclude with a lively Q&A session.
The webinar will be promoted to our community of primary and secondary care healthcare professionals via our media brands, as well as the well-established IOTOD community. Attendees included addiction specialists, GPs, primary care nurses, community pharmacists, psychiatrists, as well as other healthcare professionals interested in the management of opioid use disorder across the UK and Europe.
