Ygam joins sponsor line-up at the General Practice Awards 2024

We are delighted to announce a brand-new sponsor for this year’s General Practice Awards (GPAs): Ygam – an award-winning charity providing evidence-based education to help prevent gaming and gambling harms in children and young people.

Ygam have previously sponsored Cogora’s Nursing in Practice conferences, thereby making their sponsorship of the Nursing Award at the 2024 GPAs a great next step to developing our partnership.

Through a portfolio of evidence-based programmes, Ygam develop and deliver training and resources for a range of groups who support children and young people, including health professionals, social workers, teachers, youth workers, parents and professionals working with looked after children.

Since July 2023, Ygam has trained over 1500 health and social care professionals from across the UK, with an estimated 170,000 children and young people reached. The Ygam team have worked with a host of notable health and social care services nationwide, including Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, Place2Be, the Royal College of Nursing. This year marks the charity’s 10-year anniversary, as it continues to grow its reach and impact to safeguard more children and young people against gaming and gambling harms.

We received amazing entries from individual nurses and nursing teams working across the UK and the shortlist is almost ready to be announced. The Ygam team will be attending the Awards Ceremony on Friday 6 December where they will present the trophy to this year’s worthy winner of the Nursing Award.

Over 400 entries were submitted in 2024 across our healthcare professional and supplier categories. The quality of entries received was, as ever, fantastically high and the judges have had a tough challenge on their hands when scoring. Reading through the submissions has proven once again to be incredibly humbling and inspiring.
