The Pharmacist, the award-winning news and insight publication for community and general practice pharmacists, has launched its new Editorial Board, bringing together seasoned pharmacy professionals from across the UK to help shape and guide the brand.

The Editorial Board comprises four pharmacists, each offering a distinct blend of clinical, practice and leadership experience. They will work closely with The Pharmacist’s editorial team to ensure content remains relevant, insightful and responsive to the evolving needs of the UK pharmacy profession.

Shilpa Patel, a prescribing pharmacist and GP Partner at WellBN Surgery in Brighton, Sussex, brings more than 25 years of experience across community and practice settings. Shilpa has been both a community and practice pharmacist and strives for collaborative working which emphasises how pharmacists are increasingly integral to multidisciplinary primary care teams.

Tabarak Sadik, superintendent pharmacist and pharmacy owner in Barnet, London, combines clinical expertise with business leadership. His journey from locum to independent pharmacy owner embodies the entrepreneurial spirit and clinical commitment that characterise forward-thinking pharmacy practice today.

Hollie Greenall, senior clinical pharmacist for Sunderland Central Primary Care Network (PCN), leads on medicines optimisation and service development. Hollie understands the expanding scope of pharmacy practice within PCNs and the vital role pharmacists play in improving outcomes through clinical leadership and inter-professional collaboration.

Shveta Suri, head of pharmacy productivity at Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board, brings a systems-wide perspective to medicines optimisation and prescribing efficiency. Shveta understands the strategic role pharmacists can play in improving regional prescribing quality and health service value.

The launch of the editorial board follows The Pharmacist’s recent recognition at the Avicenna Media Awards, where it won the Best Support of Independent Pharmacists award and was praised for commitment to sector-leading coverage and industry engagement.

In further recognition of our expansion the team's most recent investigation, which revealed that ICBs are rationing Mounjaro prescribing with additional eligibility criteria, was picked up by thenational media.

The move also supports the launch of our new weekly clinical newsletter to reflect the increasing workload pharmacist do in this area.
