Nursing in Practice has launched an exclusive survey to gather information and views from general practice nurses (GPN) about pay, conditions and benefits, to shape an exclusive report.

Survey

The Nursing in Practice surve – open to all nursing staff working in general practice in the UK – covers a range of topics including pay, pensions, benefits and job satisfaction, highlighting the gap between GPNs’ vital clinical contribution and how they are rewarded, and the risks this poses to workforce sustainability.

Responses will then inform an exclusive report that we will take to MPs and the government, helping us to represent our community’s views and report on issues that matter to them.

The survey report will deliver:

  • New national evidence on GPN salaries, benefits, workload and job satisfaction
  • Trends and data to inform employers and strengthen the case for fairer pay and conditions
  • Evidence supporting GPN representation in national primary care pay and resourcing discussions

This report will be hosted on Nursing in Practice and supported by a comprehensive promotional campaign to maximise visibility and engagement with our audience of primary care nurses.

Its findings will not only be shared with MPs and the government, but also with GPs and practice managers via our Pulse and Management in Practice brands, extending its impact across the wider primary care community.

Additionally, a special Nursing in Practice podcast featuring expert speakers and frontline nurse perspectives will explore the headline findings. A roundtable event will follow, bringing together nurses, employers, and stakeholders to discuss solutions to the issues identified.

Sponsorship opportunities are available, offering partners exposure to a wide nursing audience, including prescribers and nurse partners making financial decisions, as well as access to our wider general practice audiences, and exposure to high-level stakeholders including policymakers and government.

This campaign follows the General practice nurse pay: A salary survey of the profession 2025 report, published in 2025 by Nursing in Practice and Management in Practice.
