Cogora Insight wins prestigious BSME Award
Pulse editor-in-chief Jaimie Kaffash was named ‘innovator of the year’ at the British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) awards in London last week.

Jaimie won the award for his work on Cogora Insight, which launched early 2025, bringing together leading research, white papers and investigations from our award winnings brands.
With unrivalled access to healthcare professionals across primary and secondary care in the UK and internationally, Cogora Insight uses this our knowledge and extensive data and reach to produce work that has major influence at the highest levels of government. Our Data Dashboard has correlated more than 30 data sets on every GP practice in England, which allows us to analyse practices based on deprivation levels, funding, workforce, age and ethnicity of its patient population, among other factors.
The white paper on recruitment was launched in Parliament in January, and sought to explain how general practice is facing a simultaneous recruitment crisis, with practices needing more GPs, and an unemployment crisis, with GPs out of work. The paper was very well received and was raised as part of contract negotiations this year.
The access report was then launched at a fringe event at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, attended by GP profession leaders and MPs.
The judges said: ‘Since taking on the role in November 2024, Jaimie Kaffash has turbocharged the brand, launching new, highly profitable brand extensions. His monetisation of investigative journalism through sponsored white papers and the sale of granular data to clients demonstrates brilliant creativity and innovation without ever compromising editorial integrity.’
Next year, we’ll build on our white papers with new analyses on AI and access, vulnerable populations, under-worked GPs, estates, complaints processes, and the evolving role of primary care professionals.
