MDDUS partnered with Pulse Careers to sponsor the Portfolio Careers project – a key feature of the newly launched Pulse Careers Hub, designed to support GP trainees, newly qualified GPs, and doctors exploring new career pathways.
Pulse Careers was created to be the go-to destination for doctors at pivotal points in their careers – whether they’re training, newly qualified, or seeking a change in direction.
The hub was developed following insights from the Cogora Workforce White Paper, which revealed the extent of the problem of GPs underemployed, and the problems that younger GPs are having in finding full employment.
The Portfolio Careers project showcased 16 different GP roles for GPs looking to diversify their careers, from a football doctor, a sports physician, a media doctor, or expedition doctor. With MDDUS’s expertise in professional indemnity, the project also examined the medico-legal considerations involved in pursuing such varied career paths.
As one of the UK’s leading providers of medical and dental indemnity, MDDUS is committed to supporting doctors throughout every stage of their professional journey, helping them work confidently and safely as they take on new challenges.
Within the Pulse Careers hub, we profiled 16 different portfolio career options, each featuring first-hand insights from doctors working in those fields. Alongside every feature, MDDUS provided tailored advice on indemnity and risk management, giving readers practical, trusted guidance from experienced advisers.
To maximise reach and engagement, we devised a tongue-in-cheek personality quiz for readers to find their ‘perfect’ role but also view all 16 options. The campaign ran across the Pulse website, Pulse newsletters, including the dedicated Pulse Careers newsletter, reaching over 5,000 GP trainees, newly qualified GPs, and others considering their next career steps. It was also promoted on social media, including our newly launched Instagram page for Pulse Careers.
As part of the sponsorship package, MDDUS’s branding appeared across all Portfolio Career pages, digital ads, and newsletters. Pulse also produced a thought leadership article on behalf of MDDUS, exploring how portfolio careers can help reduce stress and burnout among GPs, while outlining key medico-legal issues to consider.
The Portfolio Careers hub achieved strong engagement among the Pulse audience with over 7,000 page views and a 46% open rate on the dedicated newsletters.
For MDDUS, the partnership delivered outstanding visibility and thought leadership impact with over 660,000 ad impressions and 450 views of their feature article.
The success of the Portfolio Careers project demonstrates the value of connecting expert sponsors like MDDUS with a highly engaged, career-focused GP audience.
