We are pleased to announce a new partnership between Nursing in Practice 365 and Black Nurses & Midwives UK for our 2025 nursing conferences.

Black Nurses & Midwives UK

The Black Nurses & Midwives UK (BNMUK) is a community of professionals, passionate about healthcare and committed to sharing their experiences and career development to empower others to achieve professional development.

Founded in the midst of the pandemic during a time of heightened emotions and a feeling of not being heard, resulted in a community coming together connecting nurses with peers who felt the same.

The purpose of BNMUK is to champion nurses through peer-to-peer support, inspiring and empowering other black nurses, midwives and students. With a lack of black nursing and midwifery representation in senior management, there is an aim to create opportunities for connecting senior nurses and midwives to inspire junior staff and the next generation of professionals. This is key to both supporting a diverse workforce but in improving the health outcomes of black and brown people.

We are delighted to be working with BNMUK, helping to raise the profile of their organisation and their aims. We are working with their team on speaker recruitment across our nursing events and they will be joining us at our face-to-face events across the UK this year. We are also delighted that Simphiwe Sesane, Medical Educator and Founder and CEO of BNMUK, is a judge at this year’s General Practice Awards.

Do come along and meet with them at your local Nursing in Practice event this year!
