Three years after guidance was published by the Department of Health and Social Care for an overhaul of NHS pharmacy aseptic services in England, Cogora: The Agency convened an Advisory Board.

Cogora: The Agency

Pharmacy aseptic services in England are in need of national standardisation and of collaborative, professional leadership.

In 2020, Guidance was published for the Department of Health and Social Care for an overhaul of NHS pharmacy aseptic services in England. Wide-ranging potential benefits included improved patient experience, smarter staff deployment, increased patient safety, increased productivity of the medicines budget and greater resilience of the healthcare sector.

Three years, much focused input and one pandemic later, Cogora: The Agency convened an Advisory Board of thought leaders to take stock of the issues and challenges of the urgently needed implementation of the Plan. The resulting key recommendations will be published in a bulletin for UK Directors of Pharmacy.

Advisory boards are an excellent example of the type of strategic partnership by which Cogora: The Agency seeks to define itself, bringing our clients in close working contact with healthcare professionals around the world.
