Ahead of this week’s General Practice Awards Ceremony on Friday 9th December at the Novotel London West, we’ve been delighted to see our finalists making headlines across local media outlets.

General Practice Awards

Bicester Vaccination Centre, who are up for Vaccination Service of the Year at the 15th Annual General Practice Awards, have been shortlisted thanks to their unusual way of delivering Covid-19 jabs during the pandemic. GP Practices set up the centre at Bicester Heritage on the former RAF Bicester airfield. Their approach has led to them making the final nine who are now vying for the trophy.

The entry has been picked up by the Banbury Guardian and the Oxford Mail who have been keen to highlight the important work carried out by the Bicester Vaccination Team.

The General Practice Awards team have also been approached by a journalist in Dorset who is putting together a story to celebrate Dr Rebecca Lye who has been shortlisted for GP Trainee of the Year. Rebecca’s nomination impressed the judges by describing her infectious enthusiasm, clear sense of purpose and ability to lift morale of her colleagues during the pandemic. A “force of nature”, Dr Lye will find out whether she is the winner on Friday.

Each year the General Practice Awards recognise and showcase the incredible hard work, innovation, and dedication of individuals and teams working across the UK in primary care. The General Practice Awards 2022 offer a chance to come together in our finery to celebrate the achievements of the past year and the innovative ways that our community provide the very best care for their patients.

Good luck to all our finalists! You can stay tuned on the night for the results by following us on Twitter.
