We’re thrilled to announce that Pulse been shortlisted for two awards at the magazine industry’s most prestigious award events of the year.

James Depree is up for Cover of the Year at the 2019 British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) awards, for the front cover of Pulse’s May magazine, which dramatically demonstrated the stark reality of GPs’ mounting workload.

Pulse’s first-ever survey of GP workload saw almost 1,700 members of the profession describe the challenges they face as they work on average work 11 hours, with more than half believing they are working in unsafe conditions on a typical day.

The survey caused a massive splash, featuring on Panorama, in all the national newspapers, on the Today Programme and in a number of BBC News bulletins. It was even raised by Jeremy Corbyn at Prime Minister’s Questions.

Editor Jaimie Kaffash is also up for Editor of the Year in the business and finance category, further demonstrating his and his team’s understanding of our audience and the pressures facing general practice.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on November 19.
