“Clearly, given the number of GPs who attended, there is a great deal of interest in general practice in Scotland. This can be a spring board for GPs and the government to work in collaboration to change the face of general practice in order to improve patient care.”- David Tollan, Salaried GP

Pulse LIVE Edinburgh took place on 17th May at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange for the second event in the Pulse LIVE calendar. The conference was a great success, providing GPs in Scotland with access to the best, most relevant advice and guidance from local and national experts.

We welcomed over 300 attendees from Scotland and the North East. Attendees enjoyed the fact that they could create their own agenda, and move between the different streams.

Some of the highlights from this year included:

- A ‘hot off the press’ opening discussion on whether Scotland should follow in England’s footsteps and create a General Practice Forward View

- Clinical updates on menopause, cancer diagnosis, type 2 diabetes and urology

- Interactive skills masterclasses on MSK, Gastroenterology and Neurology

- Policy updates from leading figures in Scottish Health including Dr Alan McDevitt, Dr Miles Mack and Dr Gregor Smith

The Pulse LIVE events team are conscious of bringing together the healthcare community with other key stakeholders from the industry, with the event offering an exhibition alongside the conference.

Leading pharmaceutical companies, charitable organisations and innovative providers were able to discuss the latest cutting-edge medications and showcase their latest products and services to attendees.

What did our delegates think of the event?

Pulse LIVE events are free to attend for GPs. The events have been designed to support healthcare professionals in gaining participatory learning hours, to build their knowledge, and help them to stay at the cutting-edge of the latest treatments and guidance. Pulse LIVE is returning to Liverpool and Birmingham later this year.
