Commissioning LIVE Liverpool took place on 2nd November  for the final event in Cogora’s portfolio for 2016.
In the foreword of the event guide, Professor Sir Muir Gray CBE discussed the need for optimising value. He talked about the need “to look at the whole population level and organise care across whole systems of care agnostic to organisational boundaries”, eventually leading to “transformational thinking.” This was the core focus of the event in Liverpool. Hundreds of commissioners and healthcare professionals attended the conference at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel at the start of the month. With an agenda spanning six streams, offering a hugely varied choice of sessions, our delegates were spoilt for choice! Some of the highlights from this year included:
  • Keynote Afternoon Address: Professor Sir Bruce Keogh KBE, National Medical Director, NHS England
  • Opening Panel: Life after Brexit – What does the future hold for healthcare?
  • Closing Keynote: Developing local health leaders
  • Presentation: Perception Gap - Professor Sir Muir Gray CBE, Co-founder, NHS RightCare and Professor Matthew Cripps, National Director, NHS RightCare
The Commissioning LIVE events team are conscious of bringing together the healthcare community with other key stakeholders from the industry, with the event offering an exhibition alongside the conference. Leading pharmaceutical companies, charitable organisations and technology providers were able to discuss the latest cutting-edge medications and showcase their latest products and services to attendees. More information can be found here. What did our delegates think of the event? “Interesting day covering different aspects relating to commissioning in the present financial climate.
