Nursing in Practice made its annual visit to Manchester this week, welcoming over 530 nurses to the Bridgewater Hall on 7th June. We were delighted to welcome Jane Powell, CEO of CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) to the event, to enlighten our nurses on the difficult topic of male suicide. There were also highly engaging talks on menopause, childhood immunisations, travel health and revalidation, as well as an extremely popular talk on physical activity from the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM). Now in their 13th year, Nursing in Practice events are free to attend and are designed to support nurses in gaining participatory learning hours, building their knowledge, and helping them stay at the cutting edge of the latest treatments and guidance. The event offered in-depth, cutting-edge seminars, interactive demonstrations and an educational programme that focused on key areas that are a priority for practices. We have already had fantastic feedback from the event attendees: “Fantastic way to keep updated on contemporary issues and networking to see what other nurses do” - Wendy Walter, Practice Nurse “The day was filled with excellent learning events.
