Glasgow welcomes back Nursing in Practice Events
On 8th March, Nursing in Practice returned to Glasgow for its annual visit to Scotland. Now in their 13th year, Nursing in Practice events are free to attend for qualified primary care nurses and are designed to support them in gaining participatory learning hours, building their knowledge, and helping them stay at the cutting edge of the latest treatments and guidance. Nursing in Practice Glasgow 2016 welcomed over 600 nurses, one of the biggest events we have ever held in Scotland! With revalidation about to come into effect, the visiting delegates were briefed on the requirements needed to complete their portfolio, making the transition process as smooth as possible. Attendees were able to learn and discuss current topics such as type 2 diabetes, sexual health, dermatology, plus much more. The event offered in-depth, cutting-edge seminars, interactive demonstrations and an educational programme that focused on key areas that are a priority for practices. Some of the delegates shared their event highlights with us: “The event was very well organised. I found the whole experience informative and I hope to carry forward new information in my working practice.” “Entertaining, thought-provoking, an opportunity to network and learn new things.” “I enjoyed the day immensely. Not only were the talks informative, I can apply them to my revalidation next year and the event was good for networking.” “Educational and enjoyable. The content and delivery of the seminars were excellent. There is a vast amount of information that I can take forward into practice.” The Nursing in Practice events are also conscious of bringing together the nursing community with other key stakeholders from the healthcare industry, with the event also offering an exhibition alongside the conference. Leading pharmaceutical companies, charitable organisations and innovative providers were able to discuss the latest cutting-edge medications and showcase their latest products to the attendees.
