The final Management in Practice conference of the year took place last week in London at the Olympia Conference Centre. The conference saw over 400 Practice Managers, Directors and Administrators attend the event, with sessions well attended throughout the day.
There was a full programme of engaging and thought provoking content this year, with a fantastic keynote speech, courtesy of Dr Arvind Madan, as well as an excellent programme consisting of engaging and informative talks and presentations. Other highlights included:
  • Avoiding harm in primary care – a session led by MDDUS
  • A panel discussion on the benefits and opportunities of working together – chaired by Helen Northall  from Primary Care Commissioning and with a panel featuring Dr Mike Smith from Haverstock Healthcare, Will Murdoch from The Modality Partnership and Dr  Phil Bennett-Richards from Tower Hamlets Together Board.
  • The statutory Duty of Candour – led by Dr Sally Old from MDU
  • The new girl: A template for successful induction- led by Andy Briggs on behalf of Blue Stream Academy

Management in Practice events are free to attend for Practice Managers, Practice Directors, Practice Administrators, GP Partners and Secretaries. The events have been designed to support those at the forefront of primary care business management in staying up to date with policy change, developing long term business strategy and seeking practice efficiencies.
