Objectives

Members of SAFI (Stroke in Atrial Fibrillation Initiative), which is comprised of pharmaceutical companies Bayer, Daiichi Sankyo UK, Bristol Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals Limited and Pfizer operating as the BMS-Pfizer Alliance, sought to raise awareness of a new pathway for the management of non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF) related stroke via a live webinar.

The initiative aimed to educate members of the primary care audience, particularly our community of GPs.

Our approach

Organised and hosted by Cogora, the ‘Atrial Fibrillation Detection and Diagnosis Pathway’ live webinar showcased a panel of expert speakers, concluding with a joint live Q&A session. The webinar was co-developed by experts Trudie Lobban MBE, Founder and CEO AF Association Arrhythmia Alliance, Dr Jim Moore, President Primary Care Cardiovascular Society Professor Simon Ray, Consultant Cardiologist, Helen Williams, Consultant Cardiovascular Pharmacist and SAFI.

To drive recruitment to the live webinar, Cogora’s team of medical writers and designers produced two bespoke emails to disseminate to our audience of GPs in the UK via Pulse. When time is of the essence, we combine efficacy with speed, so you get quick results.

To encourage our community to register to the live webinar, we introduced the topic, the webinar agenda, and expert speakers. These emails generated an average open rate of 49%, well above our benchmark of 36.8%. Two retention emails were also sent to delegates who had registered to the event with reminders of the webinar and login details.

Pulse offers a daily dose of politics and financial news, CPD, cutting-edge investigations, clinical updates, thought provoking debate, and practical business advice, along with updates delivered via regular newsletters and a magazine.

Pulse subscribers were the first to find out about the new GP contract, NICE guidance, the impact of practice closures and were the first in the world to find out about the Covid vaccine through our multi-award winning journalism. As a subscriber you get access to columns from Copperfield, Nabi and Katie Musgrave among many others. Plus our clinical updates offers all the latest developments in clinical areas from cancer to paediatrics and everything in between.

To make sure the live webinar ran smoothly, Cogora supported in all technical queries and hosted two webinar rehearsals with the expert speakers.
