Objectives

The virtual event, targeted to primary care and community nurses, focused on brochiectasis, nasal health, asthma, pneumonia, COPD, inhalers and flu. Four sessions were also sponsored by major pharmaceutical companies within respiratory care.

Our approach

Each year we deliver over 35 virtual and face to face events across the UK, free for our community of healthcare professionals to attend. From our media brands, these events are produced and marketed by Cogora.

In 2023, we ran five virtual events for Nursing in Practice, hosted within the Nursing in Practice 365 platform. These featured a day of webinars focussed on one of the following: Chronic Conditions, Public Health, and Respiratory care.

The Nursing in Practice Virtual: Respiratory event took place October 2023, focusing on brochiectasis, nasal health, asthma, pneumonia, COPD, inhalers and flu, with live views reaching 2735 across seven seminars. Four sessions were sponsored by major pharmaceutical companies within respiratory care and received an average of 352 unique attendees.

When putting together our events schedule, we start by gauging our audience interests, which can be discerned from attendance patterns at previous events and feedback from brands. This is particularly relevant for our virtual events that revolve around specific clinical themes. We also conduct competitor analysis to ascertain how the event fits within the market landscape and fulfils audience and sponsor requirements.

The agenda is developed, along with a selection of speakers utilising our extensive database of experts and key opinion leaders who know and trust us. Initial stages encompass comprehensive research, drawing from past event feedback, delegate suggestions, emerging guidelines (for example NICE), and working with clinical advisors or speakers to suggest the most topical subjects.

To ensure strong delegate attendance at the Nursing in Practice Virtual: Respiratory event, including to the four sponsored sessions, we ran an extensive multi-channel marketing campaign. This ensures effective audience engagement, registrations, and attendance on the day.

Working with our Development and Design teams, we build a bespoke website, email banners, online ads, and social media assets, all to reach the intended audience. Attention is also paid to the retention strategy, maximising the conversion of registrants to attendees on the day.

Following the live virtual event, webinars are hosted on-demand within the Nursing in Practice 365 platform, giving our audience flexible access to CPD.
