The latest issue of The Pharmacist goes into depth on the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) – pan-European anti-counterfeiting measures that will see pharmacists scan every pack of medication before it is dispensed to verify its authenticity.

There are just a few months to go until all UK pharmacists must comply with the measures in February 2019. So why do so many pharmacists feel unprepared? The Pharmacist’s reporter Léa Legraien investigates.

In keeping with the issue’s focus on all things FMD-related, our cover feature also has a QR code that if scanned by a smartphone takes the reader to one of our articles explaining everything pharmacists need to know about the FMD.

Carrying on The Pharmacist’s #WarOnShortages campaign, the issue also features testimonies from four contractors who have found their businesses pushed to breaking point because of the severity of stock shortages.

This issue’s Masterclass focuses on helping contractors start their own acne service, in keeping with the service-led direction the sector is headed for.

We also have an interview with community pharmacy contractor and MasterChef 2018 finalist Moonier Hinglotwala, asked whether there’s a place fro holistic therapies in community pharmacy and found out what it’s like to be a veterinary pharmacist.
