In the latest issue of Pulse, we turn our attention to practice funding to coincide with the launch of Pulse Intelligence, our service to help GP partners and practice managers understand all the funding available to practices.

Our analysis found that small practices received higher funding than larger practices, and that practices in Cheshire and Merseyside receive, on average, 20% more than practices in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. We also show how some CCGs are failing to offer the requisite support to small practices after a spate of practice closures.

The pensions issue remains at the forefront of GPs’ minds, and we scrutinise the Government’s plans to reform the tax rules in an attempt to retain GPs.

Elsewhere, we look at key questions on treating falls, and a red flag refresher on diarrhoea.

Finally, we offer tips that will be of great interest to all GPs – how to achieve a healthy work-life balance.
