The Pulse LIVE tour continued at the start of July with the second ever visit to Newcastle. Over 200 GPs from across the North East joined 28 exhibitors at the Hilton Hotel Gateshead, in spite of the glorious sunshine, for a day of learning, networking and celebration.

The event fell on the 70th anniversary of the NHS and provided some time away from practice for delegates to reflect on their current roles and plan for the future, at the same time enjoying some delicious cake to mark the occasion!

Featuring a mixture of topical issues such as NICE asthma guidance, increasing physical activity and antimicrobial stewardship alongside skills including LFTs, migraine and ECG, those in attendance were able to select the topics most relevant to their professional development. Dr Jen Standen remarked Learnt a lot, enjoyed networking, and loved being able to select sessions to support my own individual learning needs. Fantastic day!!!’ Perhaps unsurprisingly, the most popular sessions of the day were a clinical lecture on common MSK challenges by Newcastle GP, Dr Graeme Willkes and a workshop on avoiding diagnostic errors, delivered by Dr Deen Mirza.

With 99% of those responding to our survey saying that they would recommend the event to a colleague, the team are now starting to plan how to make 2019 bigger and better.

Pulse LIVE will be taking place in two more locations this year; Liverpool and Glasgow, and returning with five events in 2019. For more information about attending or sponsoring these events, please visit www.pulse-live.co.uk
