Nursing in Practice events travel the length and breadth of the United Kingdom to bring qualified primary care nurses a free day of learning. The third event of the year landed in Belfast; the only event in Northern Ireland this year. Now in their 13th year, Nursing in Practice events are free to attend and are designed to support nurses in gaining participatory learning hours, building their knowledge, and helping them stay at the cutting edge of the latest treatments and guidance. Nursing in Practice Belfast 2016 welcomed 367 nurses to the Ramada Plaza Hotel, ready to learn and discuss topics including immunisation, menopause, FGM and wound care. There was also an opportunity for the delegates to be briefed on the requirements needed to complete their revalidation portfolio, making the transition process as smooth as possible. The event offered in-depth, cutting-edge seminars, interactive demonstrations and an educational programme that focused on key areas that are a priority for practices. Some of the delegates shared their event highlights with us: “This is an event which embraces the core values and ethos of nursing. A kin to a reunion with the additional bonus of knowledge and skills updates.” “Not only does this conference offer an opportunity to learn about current and relevant topics within nursing, but this event brings together colleagues with whom you can share clinical experiences, so that you don’t feel that you’re on your own.” “Excellent opportunity to network & hear from expert nurses from wide and diverse areas of nursing practice.” The Nursing in Practice events are also conscious of bringing together the nursing community with other key stakeholders from the healthcare industry, with the event also offering an exhibition alongside the conference. Leading pharmaceutical companies, charitable organisations and innovative providers were able to discuss the latest cutting-edge medications and showcase their latest products to the attendees. Nurses leave Nursing in Practice events feeling confident and inspired to provide the best possible standard of care to their patients. More information can be found here.
