The first ever Pharmacy Forward conference was held at London Olympia on Sunday 2nd July, to great response from our pharmacy community who felt that the event helped them to achieve their learning goals within an informative, engaging environment.

We welcomed over 200 community pharmacists from across the UK who benefited from multiple streams of content, each focused on a specific topic area, enabling attendees to tailor the day to suit their needs.

Highlights of the event included:

  • Opening remarks and welcome from Professor Ash Soni OBE
  • The morning keynote from the Rt. Hon Stephen Dorrell, who discussed the changing landscape of community pharmacy
  • Deborah Evans’ presentation on Healthy Living Pharmacy
  • And Mark Palmer, former marketing director of Pret A Manger, who delivered a closing keynote on thinking outside the box

What did our delegates think of the event?

“A brilliant conference that encourages independent pharmacies to take control of their future and expand clinical services in order to succeed.” Zahida Parveen, Pharmacy Manager

“It has empowered me. I enjoyed the talk on swot analysis as it would benefit my business immensely in terms of direction it needs to move to increase profitability, especially due to pharmacy cuts.” Nita Patel, Dispenser

“A great opportunity to hear the insight for pharmacy from government leaders, what they think the future holds for pharmacy and how we should embrace the changes.” Eddie Njenga, Pharmacist Manager

Pharmacy Forward will be back next year, taking place on 17th June 2018 at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham. Stay tuned for the latest information here
