“The event was an upgrade of my knowledge in nursing practice. The event was very educational and I felt a great privilege to be part of the nurses that were there and promote good health in this country.” - Ebun Olanike Arogundade, Community Nurse

The first Nursing in Practice event of the year took place at the Adelphi Britannia Hotel on 2nd February. Nursing in Practice welcomed over 180 nurses from the local area to come together and gain clinical knowledge to take back to their workplace.

A whole range of topics were discussed, including sessions on sepsis, autism and venous thromboembolism. Our nurses had the chance to reflect with colleagues and peers, hear from local speakers on latest developments for primary care, and spend time discovering the latest innovations to support their practice in our exhibition space.

Other highlights included reviewing the treatment options for psoriasis, how SGLT2 inhibitors can help you manage type 2 diabetes, and vitamin D vs skin cancer: balancing the risks and benefits of sunlight exposure.

Now in their 14th year, Nursing in Practice events are free to attend and are designed to support nurses in gaining participatory learning hours, building their knowledge, and helping them stay at the cutting-edge of the latest treatments and guidance.

The event offered in-depth, engaging seminars, interactive demonstrations and an educational programme that focused on key areas that are a priority for practices.
