Nursing in Practice travel all over the United Kingdom to bring qualified primary care and community nurses free-to-attend, engaging and thought-providing, events. Our second event of the year took us to Belfast.

We welcomed over 300 nurses from the local area to Nursing in Practice Belfast, where they gained clinical knowledge and insight to take back and implement in their workplace.

A whole range of topics were discussed, including sessions on sepsis, diabetes and epilepsy. Our nurses had the chance to reflect with colleagues and peers, hear from local speakers on latest developments for primary care, and spend time discovering the latest innovations to support their practice in our exhibition space.

Other highlights included:

  • Recognising and managing autism spectrum conditions in primary care
  • Obesity: Is emotional eating the missing link?
  • Understanding dementia: Supporting people with dementia and their carers

Now in their 14th year, Nursing in Practice events are free-to-attend and are designed to support nurses in gaining participatory learning hours, building their knowledge, and helping them stay at the cutting-edge of the latest treatments and guidance. The event offered in-depth, engaging seminars, interactive demonstrations and an educational programme that focused on key areas that are a priority for practices.

Have a look at what our delegates had to say:

“I found this event to be a very informative and well organised event. The subjects were well chosen and very topical. The content of the presentations was excellent. Congratulations and well done.” Marian Martin, Practice Nurse, Belfast delegate 2017

“It is great to hear some of the speakers and get updated. It is also an opportunity to network with other nurses and reps to discuss new products.” Yvonne Dixon, Practice Nurse, Belfast delegate 2017

“It was a good experience; I learned new things and got in touch with old colleagues sharing our experience in the field of nursing.” Alexandru Mitu, Community Nurse, Belfast delegate 2017

The Nursing in Practice events are also conscious of bringing together the nursing community with other key stakeholders from the healthcare industry, with the event also offering an exhibition alongside the conference. Leading pharmaceutical companies, charitable organisations and innovative providers were able to discuss the latest cutting-edge medications and showcase their products to the attendees.
