Pulse in the Press: Testosterone prescribing soars

4 October, 2016 08:23 AM

A Pulse exclusive looking at how ‘male menopause’ may be becoming wrongly medicalised has been picked up by multiple national newspapers.

The story features on the Daily Mail, Times and Express, plus Pulse Clinical Journalist Caroline Price was interviewed on Talk Radio about the exclusive.

A Pulse analysis of prescribing figures show that GP prescribing of testosterone has risen 20% since 2012, costing the NHS £20m a year. Some GPs have expressed concern this ongoing trend could put men at risk.
