The NHS went head-to-head with the private sector at Commissioning LIVE Birmingham

17 June, 2016 08:50 AM

Commissioning LIVE Birmingham took place on 14th June for the second in our commissioning events calendar.

As Professor Sir Muir Gray CBE said in his foreword of the event guide, “It is words that change the world”, and our attendees benefitted from hearing the insightful and informative words of our esteemed speaker panel, who provided relevant and tangible advice to take back to their practices and offices.

This year we welcomed hundreds of attendees to the National Conference Centre at the Motorcycle Museum from across the Midlands and further afield. Visiting attendees were able to create their own, personalised agenda from the six streams of content, ensuring that they returned to work with the most relevant information.

Some of the highlights from this year included:

• Opening Panel Discussion: Taking collective responsibility for creating a sustainable NHS

• Panel: End of life not end of care – exploring palliative care initiatives

• Keynote Panel: Is the ‘Parity of Esteem’ programme being upheld?

• Closing Keynote Debate: Is privatisation the answer to saving our health service?

The Commissioning LIVE events team are conscious of bringing together the healthcare community with other key stakeholders from the industry, with the event offering an exhibition alongside the conference.

Leading pharmaceutical companies, charitable organisations and technology providers, were able to discuss the latest cutting-edge medications and showcase their latest products and services to attendees.

What did our delegates think of the event?

“I found the day to be very interesting and useful. The range of content was excellent and there was plenty to interest me in my role in the NHS.” - Gary Rayment, CCG Commissioning Manager

“Useful day, very well organised and good quality speakers” - Ruth Cooper, GP

“It was a brilliant experience to attend a very organize conference. Would love to attend future events like these again…” – Richard Embesan

Commissioning LIVE events are free to attend for commissioners, GPs, medicines management professionals, nurses, community practitioners, pharmacists, secondary care staff and practice managers. The events have been designed to support healthcare professionals and those with a stake in commissioning, to help them keep up-to-date with the latest regulatory guidance and build their knowledge of the ever evolving commissioning landscape.
