After taking place in Manchester and Birmingham earlier in the year, Management in Practice settled in at Olympia, London on 10th November to conclude this year’s run of events.
Covering all the issues that impact on the management of primary care practices, the Management in Practice events are designed to provide practice managers, partners and support staff with the knowledge and tools to transform their practice, improve efficiency, retain key resources and reduce costs.
The last event of the year saw 380 attendees including practice managers, deputy practice managers, GP partners, and many more arriving from London and the South East. A day away from practice gave our attendees the opportunity to gain practical skills and leave with actionable strategies to meet the core challenges of their businesses.
The event was also buzzing outside Olympia’s walls, generating excitement on Twitter whether it was speakers announcing their lectures, delegates commenting on sessions they’d attended or exhibitors showing their enthusiasm for meeting with delegates:
“@GPpracticeMGMT delighted to speak at your #MIPLondon conference today - preventing Burnout #GPresilience @LondonwideLMCs”, @michelledrage
“@michelledrage @LondonwideLMCs both controversial and thought provoking around the ability of general practice to say NO. #MIPLondon”, @virginiapatania
“At #ManagementInPractice @londonolympia delivering the #Research and #PublicHealth message in #PrimaryCare. #CPRD #RWD”, @AKousoulis
The London conference programme offered 3 different streams on workforce, workload and workplace with the aim of supporting delegates to build multidisciplinary, resilient teams and to learn best practice for managing workload.
Delegates found the sessions informative, inspiring and beneficial:
“It was a very informative and interesting experience. I found out about some very useful equipment for the practice and learnt about CQC preparation.” – Surinder Kaur, MIP London 2015 delegate.
“A well run, clear and inspiring day with opportunity to network and gain ideas.” – Gareth Whyte, MIP London 2015 delegate.
“The event was extremely organised and informative throughout. The range of seminars covered many areas of interest as a Practice Manager.” – Heather Laws, MIP London 2015 delegate.
“Extremely beneficial at a time when the NHS is experiencing considerable challenges and change” – Dawn Shepherdson, MIP London 2015 delegate.
And finally, alongside the conference, the exhibition welcomed 50+ companies specialising in clinical services, who were ready to offer solutions to help attendees overcome their challenges. The range of exhibiting companies included manufacturers, charities and education organisations such as Total Solutions Group, Avensure, NHS England, The British Society of Medical Secretaries & Administrators and many more.
After such a success in London, Management in Practice will return even stronger in 2016 for the 9th year with 3 events across the United Kingdom in London, Birmingham and Manchester. More information can be found here.
