Objectives

The British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI) had recently released an update to their guidelines for managing allergic and non-allergic rhinitis. Mylan were holding a symposium at the BSACI annual meeting to discuss the changes to the guidelines – particularly the inclusion of Mylan’s product in the new treatment recommendations.

Our approach

Cogora worked closely with the client, speakers and conference organisers to put together a complete symposium. This encompassed everything from identifying and inviting an additional speaker and briefing the faculty, through ensuring regulatory approval of the meeting materials, to arranging photography and filming – all within less than eight weeks.

The symposium was being held on the first day of the conference, during lunch, which could have proved challenging for driving attendance. However, the combination of an attention-grabbing agenda and the distribution of online and print marketing proved successful; almost every single attendee present at the conference on that day attended the symposium.

Following the symposium, a meeting report was developed that captured the key points from the presentations. This report was disseminated through the print and online editions of Pulse and Nursing in Practice, and an e-blast was developed to drive traffic to the report.

Outcome

  • 157 Attendees
  • 96% of attendees rated the usefulness of the symposium as 'good' or 'very good'

The symposium was well received, with the vast majority of attendees giving high ratings with regard to learning about the new guidelines and Mylan’s product. 91% also said they would recommend viewing a webcast of the symposium to colleagues who had not attended.
